As our project lead, Stacie Ellinger is available to speak at churches, school assemblies, conferences and one-off training experiences about global citizenship, social justice, intercultural understanding, development, missions and the intersection between all these things and her understanding of faith. Stacie leads these conversations on the basis of her lived professional experience in the development sector of Cambodia.

Studies have repeatedly shown that mission projects and service volunteering projects achieve the best results when they are an integrated part of a person’s life, school or church community. Stacie is available to facilitate reviews for your church leadership team to ensure that your missions projects align with your aims, outcomes and are part of your church culture. Stacie is also available to work with schools to determine how social justice, intercultural competencies and service-learning can be integrated across learning areas.

In partnership with our partner organizations, Stacie is excited to offer the Rok Kern and CHAT training materials. All training resources are mapped to the Australian National Curriculum.

Rok Kern courses are designed as introductions to development theory throughinteractive group workshops. They and are perfect for one-day training or incursion opportunities, youth group/young adult or school camps, weekly bible studies or training for short-term mission teams.

The CHAT project is an eight-hour course designed by Scripture Union to help Australian children, young people and families from all backgrounds make the most of our vibrant diversity, by gaining the skills and confidence to listen, engage and live well with people who are different to them. CHAT is a perfect program for multicultural and multi-faith groups to explore these topics in either a weekly or camp setting.

The Learning Community is a community of people who are seeking to reflect on our understanding of charity and justice and models of giving so that we are best equipped to support vulnerable communities in partnership. The learning community involves this newsletter but also our book club community.

Knowing how to look past the glossy brochures and determine the impact of charities or making sure that your partner organisations overseas are operating legally and ethically can be difficult. Stacie is available to help you with partnership due diligence and Australian NGO compliance requirements as well as policy reviews of your short-term missions policies.

Do you want to do some bible study or training in the area that this learning community discusses but the workshops available don’t appeal to you?  Talk to Stacie about bespoke bible study, training materials and curriculum resources. As well as the Rok Kern courses mentioned previously, Stacie has also written material for the Certificate III in Christian Ministry at Uniting College Adelaide, the Anglican Board of Missions and Interserve Australia.
